While linking through other blog posts last week, I got the urge to "kopy kat" Springtime Bird vignettes I was seeing. I remembered that I had purchased several bird nests at 90% off at a decorators After Christmas Sale. I got those out of the attic along with some candlesticks and containers in the beige color range. I also found some birds that I had gotten at Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby at some time in the past. I had coupons that were due to expire on Saturday from Hobby Lobby and Michael's so I set out to make the rounds to collect a few more things for my bird vignette.
| You cannot be serious! Who would pay $10 for a bird's nest? |
| I just pulled anything that looked Christmas-y out of the nests |
I got nekkid pine birdhouses at JoAnn's ($1 each), birdcage at Michael's ($5 on sale), metal bird basket at Ross ($7), bird plate ($5) and three bird sculpture ($5 on sale) at Hobby Lobby.
I played around with the elements that I had for spacing, etc.
I painted the little bird houses and even the birds so my elements would be in the same color family.
The console (we use it to keep the CD player in) is one that my husband and I worked on together to refinish. I found it at a flea market a few years back. The finish had basically turned black all over .
Here is another bird pair that is in my living room that stays up most of the year.

Beautiful vignettes, The console you refinished is fabulous.
I'm your "neighbour" at Tabletop Tuesday, A Stroll Thru Life and I'm so glad I popped over! I want to get some nests and put them on all my candleholders! What a terrific idea! You have so many pretty little birdies too and have used them in lovely vignettes. Painting your accessories in complimentary colours really paid off - everything looks so coordinated!

Beautiful!! I love birds/birdhouses --- did my living room in them. Your "creations" looks so pretty!
Hello, stumbled upon your post at a Stroll Thru Life's Tabletop Tuesday. I love little birdies and you have done such a terrific job displaying them. Have taken a peak around your blog and like what I see. You have fabulous taste and a beautiful home, during my peak I discovered that you are a Neonatal Intensive Care RN and I wanted to give you my regards. My daughter was born very premature, weighing in a just a little over a pound and spent 4 months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Her nurses were absolutely the best and I know it was partly because of their care and dedication that she is still alive today. It takes special people to do what you do so I just wanted to say thanks and God bless.
i love it all! so spring. thanks so much for sharing this at my party!!
I love, love, love all of your vignettes. I so need to remember the nest idea on the pillar candlesticks. That is so pretty with all your bunnies. Beautifully done, and so spring. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
