I copy ideas that see in other blogs, magazines, Pinterest and real life for my home, entertaining,
parties, weddings, or just for fun. Sometimes I have an original idea too.

I am not a gardener but I do want to participate in the Garden Party that Beth is hostessing over at
Does anyone else do a blog post just to be a "party girl"?
Anyway, I was taking a picture of a "before" of a TOO chippy/shabby plant stand ( I have had for several years and was getting ready to spray paint) and I noticed that the beautiful iris' were blooming in the background.
They are officially called "perinnials" in that they come back every year (even though I don't do anything for them) but I like to call them "volunteers". I really like volunteer flowers in my yard 'cause I don't like to plant or water things unless I have to. So I got distracted from taking pictures of the plant stand (getting distracted is a malady that I have a lot of these days) to take some pictures of the iris flowers.
They were here when I moved into this house so they are well established but they are only show-y about two weeks of the whole year so I have to appreciate their beauty quickly.
Majestic arent' they?
It looks like yellow caterpillars are crawling out of the center of the flower.
There are still lots of buds waiting to bloom so the show should go on for at least another week or so.
I love classy looks but don't have the income to buy expensive things so when I see something that I would like to have in my home (or to wear, etc.), I try to think of a way to "kopy kat" it in an inexpensive way. Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and JoAnn's (addicted to their coupons) are my usual sources for supplies. I am an empty-nester mother of three (and a grandmother of one). I work as a RN in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I have a problem starting projects and then taking a long time to finish them so I thought a blog might be a good way to motivate me to complete projects so I can share them.
